You've probably heard the news that the 2026 Edition of the Farmer's Almanac will be the last edition published. This marks the end of a 200 year history of the publication. Even though we are still a few weeks from Astronmical winter setting in, as a tribute and hommage, we thought it would be fun to see what the Old Farmers Almanac has to say about our spring 2026 weather outlook. Read on.....
According to the Farmers’ Almanac, the spring season in Western North Carolina is expected to bring a mix of weather patterns typical for this time of year. Temperatures are anticipated to start out cooler than average in early spring before gradually warming up as the season progresses. By mid to late April, our region should experience temperatures closer to normal seasonal averages.
In terms of precipitation, Western North Carolina is likely to see periods of above-average rainfall during the spring months. The Farmers’ Almanac suggests that wetter conditions could dominate at times, potentially leading to an increased chance of thunderstorms, especially as the weather transitions into warmer patterns later in the season.
As normal, our region will likely encounter fluctuating weather with abrupt changes, such as brief cold snaps or unseasonably warm stretches. These shifts are not uncommon during the spring months as the area transitions out of winter and into the summer growing season.
